Post Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 7pm by Commander Irvin with a salute to the colors and prayer by Chaplin.

Committee Reports: The finance report was read and approved. The Orient Express baseball team took second place in wooden bat series. The club is doing well. Remind everyone the second Friday of every month we have a potluck. We need people to work bingo and we also need more players.

Correspondence: A thank you note was received and read from Denning School for the donations of two bicycles from post 1961.

Sick call: Bob Hindman is still at home after an operation and is doing well.

Membership: Melody Anne Hof (Air Force Lieutenant Colonel) was accepted as a new post member.

New business: Motion was made and passed to donate $100.00 to the Boy Scouts. A motion was made and passed to donate $50.00 to the West Frankfort year book.

For the good of the Legion: A $100.00 donation in memory of Lt. General Ed Fris to post 1961. A moment of silence was observed for departed member Richard Vorhees. The Memorial Day fundraiser raised $400.00. The Flag Day fundraiser raised $300.00. There is another fundraiser on September 4th, contact the post for information.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned with a salute to colors and a prayer by Chaplin.
